Volyn journalists in Lublin voivodeship

Polish Consulate General in Lutsk and regional organization of the Ukrainian National Union of Journalists facilitated a visit of the local journalists to Lublin and Zamość.

Six media specialists from the regional electronic and printed mass media took part in the program «Study Tours to Poland», organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Republic of Poland). They visited editorial offices of television and radio, and met with their colleagues from the newspapers «Kronika tygodnia» (Zamość), «Dzienniká Wschodniego» and «Kuriera Lubelskiego» (Lublin).

«The colleagues were interested in the topics that the Polish media represented on the broadcast and newspaper pages. Besides, they got to know the process of the media production by the Polish journalists at the regional level. The visitors also discussed cooperation between the editors and preparation of separate topics and even pages about life of the Ukrainians in Poland and Poles in Ukraine», – said Kostiantyn Lotzman, the Director of the Territorial Production Association «Sluzhba Informatsiyi» (Information Service) in the Volyn Regional Directorate of the National Public Broadcasting Company.

In addition, the journalists from Lutsk met with the representatives of the Ukrainian Foundation for the Sacred Frontier and the Cultural Centre in Lublin. They also visited the historical monuments of the neighboring voivodeship.

Marek Zapur, the Consul of the Polish Consulate General in Lutsk, undertook the Volyn journalists’ visit to Lublin voivodeship. Volodymyr Danyliuk, the deputy chairman in the Regional Organization of the Ukrainian National Union of Journalists, the chairman of the Public Organisation «Forum of Ukrainian Journalists», assisted with a selection process of the worthy attendees.
